Network
Swedish Centers in the Volga region are designed to encourage contacts between Sweden and the Volga region in the fields of education, research, culture, business and innovations. The first Swedish Center was opened in the summer of 1998 in Cheboksary. Later such Centers were opened in Ioshkar-Ola and Saransk. In June, 2001 another Swedish Center was officially opened in Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan will be the next city to have a Swedish Center.
Because the process of establishing business contacts is bilateral, we have plans to send Russian representatives to the regions of Sweden, which have a well-developed innovations structure. Their job will include searching for partners and investors in Sweden by requests of Russian companies, market research, etc. In the long run we are looking into creating a network of Russian Centers in Sweden.
The activities of the network of Swedish Centers will be based on effective corporate information network. Modern IT means enable us to carry out very effective preparation for all events, including virtual exhibitions, electronic discussions, contact sites, etc.
Now this project is actively supported by the Ministry of Education of Russia, the Ministry of External Affairs of Sweden, the Embassy of Russia in Sweden and the Embassy of Sweden in Russia, the Government of Nizhny Novgorod oblast and the Administration of Nizhny Novgorod.
