On June, 15, 2001 after the lecture on perspectives of cooperation with Sweden a rewarding of the Sweden Yesterday and Today contest winners took place at the Swedish Center. The rewarding ceremony was conducted by Mr. Lennart Johansson, M. Sc., expert of the Royal Institute of
Technology in Stockholm, Mr. Alexander N. Zaytsev, the Russian side coordinator of establishing the Swedish Center in Nizhny Novgorod and Mrs. Irina Panchenko, the editor of Birzha + Karyera newspaper. The contest was launched by the Swedish Center in Nizhny Novgorod in close cooperation with Birzha + Karyera.

The first place was awarded to Mr. V. P. Morozov.

The second place was awarded to Ms. Mariya Ignatushko.

Mr. Lennart Johansson, expert of the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm delivered a lecture on the Swedish system of education, which sparkled great interest among the audience.
|
As an ancient proverb goes: "A journey of thousand miles starts with one step." The first three days of the Swedish Center's activity were a good step forward, towards making Sweden in every way closer to Nizhny Novgorod Oblast and the Volga region.
